Effective Monday, March 23, 2020, the Denton County Clerk’s office has temporarily suspended all walk-in services. This includes Recording and Vitals services at all six locations. Mail-in requests and electronic requests are being processed as usual.

Public Notice: Passport Services Temporarily Suspended

To limit possible exposure and transmission of the COVID-19 virus, the Denton County Clerk’s office will temporarily suspend passport services effective 5:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2020.  We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, but must first prioritize the health and well-being of the public we serve.  We anticipate restarting passport services April 6, 2020, however this is subject to change.  Please check the website for updates.


Notice - District Clerk Designated as Clerk to Magistrate Court Effective January 1, 2020

Effective January 1, 2020, per standing order, the District Clerks office has been designated as the assigned clerk to the Magistrate Court for Denton County. Documents on an unfiled charge must be filed and will be maintained through the Denton County District Clerk. Documents filed prior to January 1, 2020 will remain in the district or county clerk's offices they were originally filed in.
