About Denton County Public Health
We provide preventive public health services by:
- Assuring disease surveillance and working to prevent the spread of disease
- Protecting against environmental hazards
- Promoting and encouraging healthy behaviors
- Preparing and responding to disasters and assisting communities in recovery efforts
Our highly skilled, educated, and compassionate staff consists of bilingual support personnel, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, physicians, certified health educators, social workers, nutritionists, epidemiologists, preparedness coordinators, medical examiners, and administrators. We partner with many other organizations such as schools districts, city parks and recreation departments, TWU, UNT, and EMS, to provide a healthy social and physical environment. Recent DCPH efforts to improve public health have received state and national recognition:
