Car Seat Program

Safe Riders Child Seat Distribution and Education Program

The goal of this program is to reduce the number of motor vehicle crash injuries and fatalities to children in Texas who are unrestrained due to a family's low-income status.

Learn about car seat safety, get your car seat inspected, or get a free car seat after training!

Who is this program for?

This program is for low-income families who travel on Texas highways.

What are the requirements for families?

  1. Self-certification of financial need.
  2. Have a vehicle and a working safety belt (lap and shoulder belts are required for booster seats).
  3. Attend a one-hour class in order to learn how to use the car seat correctly.

Unlimited education assistance, one time seat assistance. Parents must pre-register for class.
