To increase the effectiveness of the Storm Water Management Program the County will work hard to include the public in the development and implementation process of the program. Only by getting people involved can the program be truly effective.

The County will be involved in activities periodically and will need assistance in the way of volunteers to complete those activities. A calendar will be added to this page soon to notify everyone of chances to take part in keeping our waterways clean and clear of pollutants.

Denton County has an Adopt-A-Road program already in place. Through this program, an individual or organization can volunteer to keep a segment of a County maintained road clean. At least once a quarter the roadside should be cleaned. A sign is placed identifying the area, and responsible party volunteering to clean the area. This is an exciting and helpful program, and the County needs volunteers to make it work. If you would like to find out more information about the program, please contact the Commissioner's office for the area you are interested in maintaining. Please remember that this program is in place for County maintained road segments only.

As the program moves forward, more opportunities will present themselves. Please check this page, and the program homepage, for the latest news about chances to help keep our waterways clean and clear of pollutants.
